Sandy — Privacy Policy
Your Screen Time data stays on your device
Sandy uses Apple's Screen Time technology (Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings) to lock apps and track your daily goal. Apple designed these frameworks so that your app usage — which apps you use and for how long — is processed on your device and is not readable by Sandy's servers, by Nami AI, or by anyone else. The usage numbers you see in Sandy are rendered on-device inside a sandboxed Apple report view. We could not upload your screen-time history even if we wanted to, and we don't want to.
What stays on your device
- Your app usage and screen-time history
- Which apps you chose to lock, and your locking rules and schedules
- Your daily screen-time goal and your streak
- Your onboarding answers (like your name and habits)
This data lives in the app's private storage on your iPhone. Deleting Sandy deletes it.
What we do collect
- Anonymous product analytics (via PostHog): which screens are used and which features are tapped, tied to a random identifier — not your name, email, or screen-time data. This helps us understand what to improve.
- Crash and error reports (via Sentry): technical diagnostics when the app crashes, such as device model, iOS version, and what the app was doing. No screen-time data is included.
- Notification token (via OneSignal): if you allow notifications, an anonymous token used to deliver them. We don't send marketing spam.
- Purchase state (via Apple and Superwall): whether your subscription is active. Payments are processed entirely by Apple — we never see your payment details.
What we never do
- We do not sell your data. To anyone. Ever.
- We do not show ads or share data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, messages, or browsing history.
Data retention and deletion
On-device data is deleted when you delete the app. Anonymous analytics and crash reports are retained only as long as needed to improve the app. To request deletion of any data associated with your install, email support@namiai.cloud and we'll take care of it.
Children
Sandy is a self-control tool intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Meaningful changes will be called out in the app.
